This is a minimalistic roguelite made for the GeoJam 2022! Blast your way through a dungeon swamped with enemies to reach the end and claim glory!

Controls:

  • WASD / Arrow keys to move
  • Move mouse to aim
  • Hold click to fire
  • Hold space to open map
  • Hold the zero key as the game loads to enter dev mode [Experimental]

Important Notes:

Sadly, I didn't have time to add a start screen, end screen or win screen, so you'll just have to pretend :P To win, find the boss and kill it to get the key. Then find the portal and enter it. Then the game will stop, and you've won. To buy items from the shop, just keep shooting at them, and make sure you have enough coins. Also fullscreen is highly recommended.

How does this fit the theme?

This game fits the theme of "Pick a Side" because you have to choose which paths to follow, and each path is on the side of the screen. Yeah, kind of a stretch, but hey. I'm just proud I pulled this off :)

Cool Features:

  • Random generation
  • Pathfinding
  • Smoothness
  • 8Bit SFX [From jsfxr]
  • Cool music [By Kevin MacLeod]
  • Rogueliteyness

Holy shit I remember playing this on Khan Academy like 5 years ago. 10/10 big nostalgia.

Oh my goodness. No shot somebody actually remembers that. The original game was Bullet Boi https://angrybanana.itch.io/bulletboi which I played ages ago and I really enjoyed it. It's what inspired this game. I actually spent a couple of weeks trying to remember what Bullet Boi's name was, just for the nostalgia - and when I finally found it I was so happy that I decided to make something similar as my jam game :)

lol nice I must say bullet boi is orders of magnitude harder, my highscore is only 14.

The gameplay, the intense soundtrack, I have no idea how you managed to make something like this, and on top of that only in 3 days. that is some serious dedication!

Thank you so much :)
